Small Business Buddy Winner!
Local QLD Business Selected in the $60,000 ‘Small Business Buddy Program’
Woofwatchers, a local dog grooming and pet caring business is the recent winner in an ongoing string of winners in BizCover’s Small Business Buddy Program, which will help the business develop a new interactive website.
Woofwatchers started as a modest mobile pet grooming service four short years ago by Megan Webster, and as her client base grew, so did the services offered, adding pet sitting, dog walking, and doggy day care to their list of expertise. Megan acknowledges that her outdated website and the inability to communicate electronically with clients is impeding her business and the ‘wish’ granted through BizCover’s Small Business Buddy program could turn her business around.
“As a small business owner, I found that I am constantly putting all the extra money and time I have back into the business with very little extra to develop new concepts and ideas for the business. A new website has been on my ‘wish list’ for sometime and having won this grant from the Small Business Buddy program means the world to me as it has given me the opportunity to do something that probably would not have been possible in the near term otherwise,” added Megan.
“I believe a new interactive website and database will help me better service my existing clients and attract new ones. I currently employee 5 staff, one who as Aspergers and through the work with the animals has improved so much. I’m determined to keep my business going so I don’t let them down and this could be the turning point for my business,” continued Megan.
Launched in June, BizCover Founder and Managing Director Michael Gottlieb has dedicated $60,000 towards the new Small Business Buddy Program (BizGiver), in a mission to give back to the SME community who they service.
“Our success is due to the small business community, who have over the past seven years embraced our online insurance services over more traditional methods of buying insurance. Having the ability to help a business like Woofwatchers, with a ‘wish’ that will allow them to better retain and grow their client base through an enhanced website is precisely what the Small Business Buddy Program is about,” said Gottlieb.
An outstanding 1057 wishes have been submitted so far, which include numerous requests for laptops and iPads, as well as grants for life-changing business equipment, training courses and even sky jumping for CEO’s (with parachutes of course!).
Keep those wishes coming in! BizCover.com.au will grant a wish every fortnight in the form of a specific product or service valued at up to $2000. Wishes can be made by any small business with twenty employees or less. Businesses must have a valid ABN to apply but don’t need to be an existing BizCover customer to enter.
Wishes can be submitted online via BizGiver.
